A Beginner's Guide to mBot Neo/mBot2

Educational ideas

We commit ourselves to making creation easier for more people. mBot Neo is a programmable robot developed for children. After assembling mBot Neo, a child can control it by programming it. With mBot Neo, you can work with your children to analyze, identify, and abstract the important points of complicated problems, and find out the general rules, improving their computational thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

Meet the components

CyberPi

CyberPi is a new-generation networkable microcomputer designed for AI programming education. With the compact structure and powerful functions, it is a great choice for science popularization teaching of AI and advanced learning of programming.

With the powerful programming software mBlock 5, extension boards, mechanical metal parts, and mBuild modules, CyberPi series products can be used in multiple education scenarios including large-class teaching, community teaching, and online/offline education and training. The products cover multiple teaching fields including programming, makers, and robots, and thus can meet diversified education needs, such as AI, IoT, data science, and UI design.

For more information about CyberPi, see What is CyberPi.

mBot Neo Shield

mBot Neo Shield is equipped with a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can supply power for CyberPi. With the multi-function servo and motor ports, it can drive motors, servos, and LED strips.

For more information about mBot Neo Shield, see About mBot2/Neo Shield.

Quad RGB sensor

The quad RGB sensor uses visible light as fill lights, which significantly reduce the interference of ambient light. In addition, it provides the function for recognizing colors. The new ambient light calibration function also reduces the interference of the ambient light in line following. With four light sensors, it can support more programming scenarios.

For more information about the quad RGB sensor, see About Quad RGB Sensor.

Ultrasonic sensor 2

The ultrasonic sensor 2 can be used to detect the distance between an obstacle and it. The transmitter on the left transmits ultrasonic waves, and the receiver receives the ultrasonic waves reflected.
Compared to the ultrasonic sensor we've developed before, the ultrasonic sensor 2 is improved in its casing, chip, and blue LEDs. The blue LEDs can increase the potential for emotion expression and interaction.
For more information about the ultrasonic sensor, see About Ultrasonic Sensor 2.
