Possible Causes

  1.  Firmware problem
  2.  Battery failure
  3.  Charging abnormality (Carusb board problem)

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. You can refer to this article to refresh the firmware :How to Update Firmware for mTiny
  2.  If the mTiny just can't shut down, you can directly replace the Carusb board first. If it has a power-on problem, you can first test whether it can be turned on by USB power supply. If it's okay at this time, maybe the built-in lithium battery is faulty and need to be replaced.
  3.  If the USB power supply still cannot turn on the robot, check whether the charging indicator can light up normally and the charging progress bar can be displayed (as shown below). After charging for a while, disconnect the USB and check whether the battery power is displayed normally. If it can, it is not battery problem, but may be an abnormality of the Carusb board or the motherboard. If it cannot, maybe the charging port(i.e. Carusb board) is abnormal.

二. mTiny automatically shuts down after running for a certain distance

Possible Causes

  1.  Power supply problem
  2.  TVS tube abnormality
  3.  Motor failure (because mtiny will automatically shuts down whenever one motor is not running)
  4.  Motherboard is defective

Troubleshooting Steps

  1.  If the mTiny automatically shuts down after moving a certain distance, you need to check whether it can be charged normally. Observe whether the power level of the car changes during charging, and check the power level of the car again after charging. If there is still no power display after that, you can try to replace another mTiny charging cable and try again to see if it can charge normally. If the problem persists, you need to replace the battery.

2. Disassemble the mTiny and check if there is TVS tube on the motherboard. If you have a soldering iron, you can try to remove the TVS tube. If not, please contact the support team for a new motherboard. After removing the 4 screws at the bottom of the robot with a cross screwdriver, you can refer to this video to disassemble the product and check the motherboard.

  1.  The motor needs to be cross-tested to determine if it is faulty. If the motor tests fine, please  contact the support team for a new motherboard. (motor replacement can also refer to this video
