The Tap pen Cannot Control the mTiny to Move or Stop

This article applies to mTiny.

Before troubleshooting according to this article, please make sure that the robot and the tap pen have been successfully paired.

1. Issue Description

After pairing the tap pen controller with the robot successfully, the joystick of the tap pen cannot control the robot to move and run in the corresponding direction.

2. Possible Causes

  1. The joystick is not enabled.
  2. The joystick has been used for a long time, the control may not be accurate enough and has not been calibrated.
  3. The mTiny(robot) is faulty.
  4. The tap pen is faulty.

3. Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Please adjust the joystick as follows:
In the mTiny Discover Kit, the joystick of tap pen is disabled by default. To use the joystick to control mTiny, you need to enable the joystick first. In mTiny Coding Kit, the joystick of tap pen is enabled by default, so you can use it to control mTiny directly. Press and hold the Power button, Confirm button, and Stop button simultaneously to enable or disable the joystick of the tap pen controller. (As shown below)

  1. Please refer directly to the article "How to Calibrate the Tap Pen Controller" to perform calibration.
  2. You can use simple coding cards to test whether the machine can move forward and backward normally. If there is no problem, but the robot can't be controlled by tap pen joystick, then the tap pen may be faulty and can be replaced separately.
  1. If the robot cannot operate normally in various modes such as maps, encoding cards, etc., the machine itself may be defective. Please contact the support team for further confirmation.
