This article applies to the mBot Ranger.
1. Issue Description
When you assemble mBot Ranger into Nervous Bird (as shown in the following picture), connect it to [Makeblock] App and select the Nervous Bird mode, the machine can't keep balance.
2. Possible Causes
-
Motor cable connected in reverse
-
Low battery
-
Assembly problem
-
Motor or other component failure
3. Troubleshooting Steps
-
Swap the connection positions of the two motor cables on the main control board, that is, connect the motor connected to the M1 port to the M2 port, and connect the motor originally connected to the M2 port to the M1 port.
-
If powered with the battery holder, you can load 6 brand new Nanfu AA batteries, don't mix the old and new batteries. If you use the 18650 lithium battery pack provided by Makeblock, it is recommended that you charge it for a while before trying it again. You can also adjust the assembly position of the lithium battery pack.
- Assembly problems (such as positioning errors of metal beams and loose screws) can lead to instability of the center of gravity, and even affect balance. When the motor can't regulate balance normally, you can check carefully by reading the assembly instructions. The following picture shows a positioning requirement for assembly (hole 1 and hole 3 should be locked with screws while hole 2 should be kept unlocked).
- Confirm whether the product runs normally in other modes (e.g. Land Raider), if there is no abnormality, then the product itself is probably fine.
