Use the example programs of mBot2 Rover

mBot2 Rover provides three example programs, which can be used once you have built mBot2 Rover and uploaded them to it.

1. Restart mBot2 Rover

Before running an example program, turn mBot2 Rover off and then turn it on to ensure that it is restarted.

2. Enter CyberOS

CyberPi automatically enters CyberOS after you restart mBot2 Rover. If it doesn’t, press the Home button on CyberPi.

3. Choose and execute an example program

Take the main program as an example.
(1) Move the joystick down and press it to choose Switch Program, and then move the joystick right and press it to choose Program1. Press button B to execute the program.
Note: During the execution of the program, you can press the Home button on CyberPi to return to the main page and switch to another program.
(2) Connect mBot2 Rover to your computer by using the USB cable.
(3) Open mBlock 5 (PC client or web version), and click Example Programs > mBot2 Add-on Packs > Main program > OK to open the main program.
(4) Click Connect > Connect to connect mBot2 Rover to mBlock 5.
(5) Click Upload Code to upload the main program to mBot2 Rover. After uploading the program, you can see Program1 in My programs on CyberPi replaced by Main program.
(6) Before uploading a new program, switch to another program, for example, Program2. Otherwise, the previous program will be overwritten.

Features of the main program

Feature 1: Use the Bluetooth controller's joysticks to control mBot2 Rover's movement.

Feature 2: Use buttons L1, L2, R1, and R2 on the Bluetooth controller to control mBot2 Rover's arms.

Feature 3: Use the directional pad to control mBot2 Rover's movement.

Feature 4: Press and hold button + to make mBot2 Rover follow the black line on the map.

Feature 5: Press and hold button ≡ to make mBot2 Rover recognize colors.

Feature 6: Press the number buttons to switch between mBot2 Rover's expressions and sounds.

Feature 7: If mBot2 Rover is left unattended with the power on for 20 seconds, it will enter the sleep mode. A simple shake can wake it up.

Feature 8: If mBot2 Rover's eyes are covered, it will be startled and move backward. This reaction requires significant changes in light intensity.

Have more fun with example programs

1. Press the Home button to go to the homepage.
2. Move the joystick down to choose Switch Program, and choose another program, for example, Program2. Press button B and upload the music program or dance program.
