This article applies to mBot Ranger.
1. Issue Description
2. Possible Causes
1. AA batteries or USB power supply may cause unstable/insufficient battery voltage.
2. Improper product installation, such as too tight track assembly, incorrect metal beam mounting hole position, etc.
3. Faulty part such as motor or motherboard.
3. Troubleshooting Steps
For the above possible causes, check each of them against the following points.
1. When using the battery holder for power supply, it is recommended to use Nanfu AA batteries. If the motor cannot be driven in this way, you can switch to the official USB cable to power the product for testing. If the USB power supply also appears to move obstacles, it is best to directly use Makeblock rechargeable battery pack, which can basically solve the problem caused by abnormal power supply.
2. Check whether wheels are installed and motors are connected correctly. You can build it into Land Raider form, temporarily remove the track, and test whether the separate motor is rotating with the "Drive" function of the Makeblock APP. If the motor can run normally at this time, but not after the track is installed, it may be that the metal beam is positioned incorrectly during assembly, resulting in over-tightening or the power supply voltage is insufficient. The motors can be reassembled and powered via USB or rechargeable battery packs if possible.
3. If the motor is still running abnormally after the above steps, you can try to change the position of the hole where the motor is connected to the metal beam. Move the motors on both sides in the direction of the arrows in the figure below and install them. (This method is not recommended unless under special case)
4. If the problem cannot be solved by the above steps, there is a possibility of motor or motherboard failure. Please contact the support team to confirm the parts replacement process.
