Control mBot Ranger with the Makeblock App

System requirements

  iOS  Android
Makeblock for tablet/phone iPhone4S/iPad 3, iOS 9.0 or later

Android 4.3 or later

 

Download the Makeblock app

Search Makeblock on App Store or Google play, and then download the app.

Connect your mBot Ranger to the app

Turn on your mBot Ranger, enbale Bluetooth on your smart device, open the Makeblock app and click the bluetooth sign on the upper right conner. Put your phone close to the Ranger.

When the connection LED indicator stops blinking, it means that mBot Ranger is successfully paired with the smart device.

 

Control Land Raider or Dashing Raptor

1. Tap mBot Ranger from the device list.

2. Tap Play.

The Makeblock app provides the Drive, Draw and Run, Musician, Voice Control, Line Following, Avoid Obstacle, and Racing Car modes for Land Raider or Dashing Raptor.

You can choose to control Land Raider or Dashing Raptor in any of these modes.

Line Following: The robot follows a black line on a white surface such as Ranger Test Pad. Make sure  that the Test Pad is fixed on the flat surface by tape.

Avoid Obstacle: The robot runs and avoids obstacle automatically, and it doesn't respond to you when you press any button until you switch it to operate in another mode.

Note:
The robot remembers the last mode it operates in and will automatically run in the mode after it is started again.

3. Return to the homepage of mBot Ranger, and tap Code.

The Makeblock app directs you to the mBlock app if you have already installed it; and if you haven't installed it, the app prompts you to download it.

4. Tap Build.

You can download the building instructions.

5. Tap Create.

You can program it in Manual mode or change code in other modes.

Control Nervous Bird

Return to the homepage of mBot Ranger, tap Play, and tap Nervouse Bird.

The self-balancing mode is available. It enables Nervous Bird to stand up and balance on its own.

You can use the control panel to control Nervous Bird or tap DESIGN to program it.
